Tom's Accident

My Little Brother is My Hero

On the 14th of April 2017, my brother and 5 of his friends were in an accident in Redding, CT. They sat unconscious in our old Jeep Liberty; Tom in the passenger seat, slowing burning as the flames moved from his left hand up towards his face. Ryan in the driver's seat, crushed from the impact of the car hitting the trees. Four angels, who had never met, stopped and saved each of their lives.

The accident had a huge impact on my entire family and taught us a lot. It will take 18 long months for Tom to heal completely, but he is strong. We will always be there to pick him up when he'

s down, no matter how much he tries to push us away. And, although I do not believe we have been able to process it entirely, I do believe we have learned from it. We have learned that we can always find good in bad situations. We have learned that every day and every human we meet is a gift. We are lucky.

LESSON 5: ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, LOVE. AND 1,000 OTHER THINGS, BUT LOVE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT.
